Haleh Mashian is a contemporary Los Angeles based artist best positioned within the realm of Contemporary Abstract Expressionism with a strong emphasis on materiality, texture, and psychological atmosphere. Her artistic journey began long before she opened her gallery. After earning a BA in Finance from USC, she exhibited in local and international venues, establishing a distinctive visual language defined by texture, emotion, and color. Over time, Mashian developed a multidisciplinary practice, often composing original piano pieces to accompany her paintings. Her life story is one of strength and courage. At the age of 20, she made the bold decision to flee the Iranian regime with her 13-year-old brother, crossing the border into Turkey under a different identity. After six months, they reached the United States, where she discovered a life defined by freedom and boundless creative opportunity. The risk she took continues to inform her perspective as an artist and leader, standing as a testament to resilience, vision, and the power of reinvention.
